In India many children under the age of 5 die. This is partly due to poor hygiene, the caste system and lack of clean drinking water. People live close together in small huts and garbage is thrown on the street. The result is often that children become ill, have diarrhea and cannot see a doctor due to a lack of financial resources and there is no money for medication.
Since 2003, Evangelist R. oversees various children's homes in the vicinity of Bhimavaram in India. R. is an evangelist with an enormous passion for the underprivileged in society. There are currently hundreds of children in these children's homes. These children are taken care of if the parents are no longer able to care for them, if one or both parents have left, or the child has been rejected.
The vision of R. and his team is to provide the children with a safe home, where they can receive healing and recovery and grow into strong, independent individuals rooted in the love of Jesus. In addition, Project Held in India supports children who are half orphans and who live with their grandfather or grandmother. These are mostly poor families who need support.
