Firewood for Kosovo🪵

Winters in Kosovo are harsh. Temperatures of –20 degrees are not uncommon. For many families and elderly people, this is an enormous ordeal. Homes are often barely insulated: there are cracks in windows and doors, damp walls and ceilings, mold inside, and cold seeping in everywhere.

Due to the lack of proper insulation and heating, homes are often cold, damp, and unhealthy. Beds, clothing, and furniture become saturated with moisture, leading to mold and health problems. The elderly and families in the higher-altitude villages, in particular, live in appalling conditions.

Firewood is vital to them.

Firewood allows them to heat their homes and cook at the same time, since gas and electricity are unaffordable for many people. A supply of firewood means warmth, a hot meal, and above all: a measure of dignity and health during the long, cold winter months

For older people in particular, firewood takes a huge weight off their minds. No more fear of the cold, no more sleepless nights due to freezing temperatures—just warmth, peace, and comfort.

Will you help keep these seniors and families warm?
