Last weekend we received a cry for help from R. in India. R. helps about 482 children in 11 houses with the help of Project Held. At the moment, 125 children have been seriously ill for two weeks, have fever and headache. There is a knuckle fever in the area where the children live. The children may have been infected with it. Special medicines are used to suppress the symptoms as much as possible and to make them bearable. The children who are the sickest
now receive the best medicines and there are 50 children who need immediate help and already have serious symptoms.
You will understand that the reservation that R. normally has to help children who are ill has been completely spent on this care. It's terrible when you see the children sick, want to help them, but can't because the finances don't allow it. The doctor has advised to take blood from all children for a hematological examination
do what costs 2000 rupees per child. (around € 27,-). If the test shows that there are too few platelets, special treatment will have to be given.
R. urges us to pray for the healing of the children and that no more children will be infected. But he also asks us to help and support us in the finances. Without the finances, R. cannot help the children and the children will get sicker and there is the possibility that they will die from this terrible disease. Held has already made a contribution to the project.
