Our vision is to help as many children as possible out of poverty and despair. One by one we help them to look at their future and the possibilities they have. But we can't do that alone! Help build a new generation without poverty!
Join Project Held on a journey and meet your sponsor child!
Project Held has had a wonderful journey, in which we have been able to help and encourage many people and make a lasting difference. By handing out hot meals, providing food parcels and simply giving a hug or a smile, we have experienced how small gestures can have a huge impact. One of […]
What a fantastic time we had at Salem camp with about 300 children! Salem means ‘to be peaceful’ and ‘to be at rest’ – a place where you can receive, leave all the misery and problems behind you for a while and enjoy the moment. Arrival and set-up Wednesday was all about set-up and […]
No sooner said than done. June 14th was the day. A two-week trip was planned. After a tiring but successful flight we arrived in Johannesburg.
The moment the door opened and a very enthusiastic child flew around my neck was very emotional
Iris Ministries Uganda: The center led by Carolyn Figlioli started in South Sudan. During the war, many children became orphaned or fled from the dangerous situation during the war that caused them to lose their parents.
Foodstep: has its location in Entebbe in the middle of the village where children are taken care of and who come from what shall we say, quite painful background.
From July 15 to July 22, Project Held is on a mission trip to Kosovo. The purpose of the trip is to support the local population with hot meals or other needs and to visit and encourage the families of Project Held's children. Friday 15 and Saturday 16 July: After a tiring […]
A small team from Project Held went to Uganda for a week in February to visit a children's home in Uganda. A visit with the aim of possibly working together in the future.
For five evenings we went to the campaign field where thousands of people gathered to dance, worship and listen to God's word.
For the children we had a program outside with crafts and games.
The poorest in the area can eat a healthy hot meal there 2 to 4 times a week.
Entire families live on the fringes of society with children who earn a small amount of money by catching snakes.
Project Held Gifts
A goat, bible, sewing machine or water filter. Examples of gifts of great value to families and children living in extreme poverty. Provide a child, family or project in a developing country with a valuable gift.
A sewing machine for a widow in India quickly makes a huge difference. When a woman loses her husband and becomes a widow, she falls outside of everything. The family rejects her and she is no longer allowed to be part of the community. With a sewing machine and the accompanying lessons, she can generate income that allows her to take care of herself and not be forced to beg on the street and live on the street. You can make a big difference in the lives of these women in a fairly simple way.
Many high school teenage girls in Africa miss school lessons on average one week a month because they cannot attend school during the monthly period. The people in the villages have no money to buy the necessary facilities for this. Out of shame, hygiene and incomprehension, the girls do not dare to go to school. It also happens that girls no longer go back to school after being at home for a period because they are then deployed at home and thus lose sight of the chance at school and the future. With the purchase of 1 package/bag you make a big difference for these girls so that they can be themselves and continue to follow the normal weekly rhythm. Contents of one package: *1 washcloth * 1 piece of soap * 2 sets of underwear * 4 inserts * 2 Protectors
India is a poor country with a big difference between rich and poor. Street life in India is well known. People begging because they have nothing. By giving a food package you already make a big difference. Then they don't have to go out on the streets to beg and get healthy food, which will also make them physically stronger. One hot meal a week would already make a huge difference, can you help make that happen?
