Billy visiting

March 17, 2021

After teaching the children of the school online a week ago, in which they all read a piece and chatted for a while, we were able to be present in the classroom live again this time. We missed the kids and it's good to see them again!

However, we didn't come alone this time! We had a sweet stuffed animal named Billy. Billy is on a journey through the world. His owner lives in America and has sent Billy to Europe where Billy experiences all kinds of adventures. This is all kept in a diary so that the children in America learn a piece of Europe.

In the booklet you tell something about the place where you live, the customs in that country and the sights. But the best thing to read are of course the stories that Billy experiences. The intention is that Billy will go back in April and in the meantime will experience many adventures and these are kept in a diary.

The children thought that was very interesting and we could tell where America was, what Billy had already experienced and that this would also be described in the diary this morning. The kids all wanted to hold and cuddle Billy and it also encouraged them to get to work. For example, the children read to Billy, played together, jumped rope together, Billy got "married" and we noticed that the children became more open.

One of the children had some cold complaints and with complaints this means staying at home, so one of the children was also taught online. We also showed this child Billy. The day before it had already been told that Billy would be coming so all the children knew about it.

Unfortunately, when it was time to go home, all the kids wanted Billy to stay. Unfortunately that was not possible and they were all able to say goodbye to Billy in their own way, who will experience the next adventure further in the country.

You notice that the children respond to a hug and that this is a way to get closer to the children and let them tell stories. In this way, the children also receive more personal attention. With a good experience richer we went home again. We are already looking forward to next week!
