Help Baan Zion in Thailand!

February 17, 2017

Prayer asked for Baan Zion in Thailand. Baan Zion is one of the projects that is supported by project Held and of which the little 30 girls are all sponsored! These girls have been rescued from the prison where they were with their arrested mother, or were rescued from child prostitution or human trafficking.

That which Jan and Ellen were afraid of, seems to be coming true! Every year, Jan and Ellen, project leaders of Baan Zion, are checked by the NGO in Thailand to see if Baan Zion meets their requirements. Last year, Jan and Ellen were informed that quite a few things would have to be changed in the current house, otherwise Baan Zion was no longer allowed to stay there.

Despite the fact that Jan and Ellen have done everything within their power to make the house meet all the requirements, it seems that rules were added again and again. In short, the requirements could never be met enough.

The NGO now demands that Jan and Ellen with staff and all the girls leave the house before the end of March! A house where they moved in years ago with the girls, a house that is their home and which is fully equipped, a house where last year special internet was added which was necessary for the study for the girls and above all a house where God's presence is clearly felt!

This brings great sadness to Jan and Ellen and the girls, but above all sadness also uncertainty. Where should they go with this large family? 30 girls, a number of staff and house mothers and all storage for food, clothing, school supplies, computers, games, kitchen utensils, etc...

That's why we ask for your help! Without your help there seems to be no possibility! Below are the points in a row:

  • They have to leave the house at the end of March, pray for a miracle that they can stay in this house, this is not possible, pray for a new house! Houses of this size are scarce, most are owner-occupied houses. There is no money to buy and because Jan and Ellen are forced to leave the house, they break the current rental contract and the costs will therefore run into thousands of euros. In addition, a deposit will have to be paid for the new house, with money that is not there...
  • If they find a house, all the girls' belongings, kitchen and supplies will have to be moved, which will also run into thousands of euros.
  • The girls will all have to get used to the new environment, new way to school and we would like to ask you to really pray for safety, that they will feel safe in their new environment!
  • Pray for a house that does meet the requirements so that there is no imminent relocation in the short term, they really can't have that!
  • Pray for the health of Jan and Ellen, in addition to this uncertainty, Jan and Ellen also feel physical attacks. Good health for all is really very important, especially at this time!

In addition, we would really like to ask you, if you have the opportunity, to give a gift for the enormous mountain of costs that are coming. The estimated cost, if they will find a home, will be around €10,000/€12,500. Your help is really very welcome! All donations contribute to being able to start again somewhere! Nobody wants these girls to end up on the street!
