Win Myanmar Mission

The project in Myanmar is located in Yangon.

There are currently 30 children living in this children's home. The children's home is part of Win Myanmar Mission, founded in 2003 by pastor Dr. Philip Thang. Pastor Philip is primarily focused on reaching the lost in Myanmar. In 1975 this pastor came to faith during a campaign. After his radical conversion, he has a strong desire to serve the Lord.
Mattheus van der Steen and team went to Myanmar in January 2010 to hold a conference with Pastor Philip. Hundreds of people have come to faith and many have been healed.

The same team paid a visit to Pastor Philip's children's home and decided to include these children in Project Held. The goal of Win Myanmar Mission is to provide the children with a safe home, where they receive healing and recovery and thus blossom into strong, independent individuals rooted in the love of Jesus.

Myanmar has long been a country of persecution. Many people fled to the cities or went into hiding and their children were left behind with all the consequences. Pastor Philip and his team take in children and give them a home. In addition, these children can go to school in order to have a better future. Something that is not always self-evident for the “ordinary” population in Myanmar. Thanks to sponsorship, these children can build a hopeful future and they are firm in their beliefs and convictions.

A small team from Project Held went to Uganda for a week in February to visit a children's home in Uganda. A visit with the aim of possibly working together in the future.
For five evenings we went to the campaign field where thousands of people gathered to dance, worship and listen to God's word.
For the children we had a program outside with crafts and games.
The poorest in the area can eat a healthy hot meal there 2 to 4 times a week.
Entire families live on the fringes of society with children who earn a small amount of money by catching snakes.

Soccer shoes
A poor family in Africa often does not have enough money to send their child(ren) to school. Therefore, they will soon "force" their daughters to marry early so that they are taken care of. For these young women there is no chance to learn and build on their qualities and gifts. Hope4hope in Kenya has decided to include these young women in the football trajectory. In this way they can build on their qualities and limits and also look up and indicate these. In this way they make themselves more resilient and they are stronger in society. There is such great enthusiasm that unfortunately there is always a shortage of football boots, balls and clothing. Especially the shoes wear out quickly and playing football barefoot causes the necessary injuries. These girls are very happy with their own pair of shoes! It gives them the chance to fight, train and get stronger in the game. you see the girls liven up day by day. Sometimes they are on the field before dawn and can't wait to get started.
