The children have lunch at school and return home at 4:30, where they help with various chores, such as helping with cooking or doing the dishes. At 7, there is a communal meal, after which the children do their homework. At 9, they pray together and go back to bed. On Saturdays, they get up at 7:30. After breakfast, the older children help with various chores such as laundry and cleaning. In the afternoon they do homework and play games. On Sunday, they also get up at 7:30 a.m.. After breakfast, everyone gets ready and then goes to church at 9. All children participate in Sunday school activities. At noon, church ends and there is time again for the children to play and prepare for the coming week.
Project information:
The project in Kenya that your sponsor child is a part of is called Esther Home. The project was founded by Youth Apart, a ministry set up by Daniel and Marlies Hoogteijling. At the Esther Home, they shelter young teenage mothers with their children. The mission of this home is to create a healthy living environment with God's love and to offer the necessary facilities, such as counseling. In this way they want to change the vulnerable lives of these teenage mothers and their children so that they can have a positive influence in their society.
Your support provides your sponsored child with food, school and learning materials, housing and medical care, so that he has a great future in which they can begin to realize their dreams.
