Evangelism in Mozambique

Every week, a team led by Corrie Ockhuysen will evangelize around the rubbish dump in Maputo. Corrie then takes several children from the children's home with her. At least 200 children come here! An older child tells a Bible story., They pray with the children, then games are played and all children receive a nice bag of chips.

Kindergarten Graduation Party
Successful kindergarten
The youngest children at the children's home in Mozambique celebrated a farewell party from kindergarten. The children were able to showcase what they had already learned; now they know the full names of all the presidents to date. We are very proud of all the teachers who have dedicated themselves to all these wonderful children. Each child received a certificate – it was a true celebration!

The political situation in Myanmar remains highly volatile following the military coup in February 2021. The country is experiencing widespread protests against the junta, coupled with a significant increase in armed resistance. **Key Developments:** * **Continued Protests and Civil Disobedience:** Despite severe repression, a significant portion of the population continues to engage in civil disobedience, impacting the economy and government functioning. * **Armed Conflict:** Fighting has intensified between the military and various ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) and newly formed People's Defense Forces (PDFs). The conflict has spread beyond traditional ethnic minority areas into many parts of the country. * **Humanitarian Crisis:** The conflict and the junta's actions have led to a severe humanitarian crisis. Millions have been displaced internally, and there are widespread reports of human rights abuses, including arbitrary arrests, torture, and extrajudicial killings. Access to essential services like healthcare and education has been severely disrupted. * **Economic Collapse:** The economy has been severely damaged by political instability, sanctions, and the ongoing conflict. Inflation is high, and unemployment is widespread, impacting the livelihoods of ordinary citizens. * **International Response:** The international community has largely condemned the coup and imposed sanctions on the junta. However, efforts to restore democracy and provide humanitarian assistance have been met with significant challenges. ASEAN's efforts to mediate have yielded limited results. * **Junta's Control:** While facing widespread resistance, the military junta (State Administration Council) maintains control over key institutions and infrastructure in many areas, though its authority is contested, particularly in border regions and urban centers. **Challenges:** * **Lack of Unity:** While there is widespread opposition to the junta, the forces opposing it are diverse and sometimes lack coordination, making it difficult to present a united front. * **Humanitarian Access:** The junta restricts humanitarian access to many affected areas, complicating relief efforts. * **Economic Sanctions Effectiveness:** While sanctions aim to pressure the junta, their effectiveness in causing a significant shift in policy is debated, and they can also impact the civilian population. * **Regional Diplomacy:** Finding a unified regional approach to de-escalate the conflict and promote a peaceful resolution has proven difficult. The situation is dynamic, and developments can change rapidly.

Unfortunately, the political situation in Myanmar is not improving. Terrorists are killing civilians and burning houses. There is a lack of food and shelter. Many children have fled to the jungle or to other safe places. It's a harrowing situation where entire families are often torn apart. Fortunately, we can report that the children cared for in "our" children's home, Win Myanmar Mission, are safe. However, the situation in Myanmar is very worrying, and we ask for your prayers for this. situation.

Help Broke family in Kosovo

In October, we visited an extremely impoverished family in Kosovo. Currently, the parents are renting a house where they live with their four children. The house is extremely cold; many windows are broken, and there are terrible drafts. We would love to help these children so they can attend school on their path to a better future. If you would like to sponsor one or more of these children, you can do so by clicking on the child's photo.
