Your support directly contributes to a safe and better living environment for children in orphanages. In addition to the personal sponsorship of children, Project Held also works on sustainable projects that strengthen the community.

This includes providing food parcels, digging wells, providing school uniforms, building additional shelters, setting up vegetable gardens for their own food supply and providing aid during floods and cyclones.

    A small team from Project Held went to Uganda for a week in February to visit a children's home in Uganda. A visit with the aim of possibly working together in the future.
    For five evenings we went to the campaign field where thousands of people gathered to dance, worship and listen to God's word.
    For the children we had a program outside with crafts and games.
    The poorest in the area can eat a healthy hot meal there 2 to 4 times a week.
    Entire families live on the fringes of society with children who earn a small amount of money by catching snakes.

    Tools
    Tools are a pleasant gift for our Hope4hope project in Kenya. In this way, the older boys of the project learn to apply and expand their skills. Since so many people are building daily, but the number of engineers is not enough, this is a market gap that we want to tap to help the young people. We also want to offer this as a source of income for the youth. With proper equipment, the youngsters will be able to improve their lives. Think of repairing broken furniture, building parts of houses, building stables for the animals of the farm, etc. By providing education, the older boys gain confidence, they build a goal and they notice that they can provide for their own income. This prevents them from wandering aimlessly, choosing the wrong path such as drugs, theft or worse and it connects with each other. An average tool in Kenya is between 50 and 150 euros. With € 75,- they are able to purchase a nice tool for the workshop.

    Tricycle for the disabled
    In India, due to poverty and the caste system, there is little or no help for the so-called lower castes, the physically disabled and people with leprosy. These people live in a slum with hardly any facilities. In addition, it is almost impossible for some of these people to move around due to the severity of the conditions. A so-called tricycle can make a big difference for these people, even difference between life and death. Thanks to this “tri-bike” they have the opportunity to move around, to beg in places where many people come and to pick up hot meals from good institutions. Often these people also have open wounds and if they are not taken care of, this can have serious consequences. This means that they must be able to move around in order to get help. In short, a tri-cycle is vital for these people! Help and make life bearable for these people.
