When you start a new year, you often think back to the past year. We look back gratefully on 2022 despite the fact that sponsorship has not grown and we had to get used to operating independently. On the other hand, we have gained knowledge and insight to support our projects on a broader level. We want to give this more hands and feet in 2023. You can contribute to this by, among other things, giving the projects a gift. Take a look at our webshop and make the project where your sponsor child lives or one of the other projects happy with a gift.

Christmas is already a few weeks behind us. We are very happy with the extra Christmas gifts we received from our sponsors, this really contributed enormously to the joy of our children's Christmas party. Thank you very much for that!

Christmas party Mozambique
Christmas was celebrated extensively with the children of the children's home in Matola, together with 250 children who live on or around the garbage dump. The Christmas story was told, games were played and of course every child received a present and on top of this, every child was spoiled with a piece of chicken, a true delicacy there.

Christmas in Uganda and reunion with family from Sudan
The birth of Jesus is also celebrated in Uganda. Together with 500 children from the surrounding villages, Christmas was celebrated with lots of fun, the Christmas story, presents and meat! Every child thoroughly enjoyed all these extras. These children originally come from Sudan and have fled to Uganda because of the war.

The Iris Ministries team spends the whole year looking for family left behind in Sudan. At the beginning of January the time had come and a long journey was made to reunite a number of children with relatives they had not seen for years. See the photos of the reunion of a boy after 12 years with his family, they live in a refugee camp in Sudan. A very special and emotional moment.

Holidays in Kenya
Thanks to some nice gifts, about 100 to 150 children could participate in a Christmas meal this year, which is of course fantastic. On New Year's Day, the children played old Dutch games and held a football tournament among themselves. This has given everyone a good family feeling, so nice to know that you are not alone.
