Four prospective medical students Mozambique
|

|
|
In 2021, several young people from the children's home of Corrie Ockhuysen passed their secondary school diploma. We think it's a fantastic achievement! Four of them are eager to study medical and took an entrance exam at the end of January.
|
|
|
We received the fantastic news that they have all been adopted. We are very proud of these champs! These children had a bad start but through loving care, sponsorship and education they can now pursue their dream.
|
|

An encouraging story from Uganda
|
In 2019 we went to Carolyn's children's home with a team from Held. Here we met a young mother with a daughter with hydrocephalus. The mother had to carry the child all day, which was very heavy. She had no money for a wheelchair. The mother was totally exhausted!
|
|
As a group we prayed for mother and child and we were able to help them financially so that she could buy a wheelchair for her daughter, at that time 2 years old. We received the wonderful message that the girl has go through several surgeries and now has a leg splint and is currently learning to walk.
|
|
|
|
The mother has become a completely different woman who has hope again and now even has time to work in her own shop. God really did a miracle in the life of mother and child!
|

Online writing a letter is possible

From this week on it is possible to write and send your letters to your sponsor child via our projectheld.nl website.

You can compose and send your letter in 3 steps. You can also view and download your sent letters there later.

From February 20th-27th we will make a pioneering trip with Held to Uganda, where we will visit a children's home in Entebbe and get to know the team and the children over there. This children's home takes in children who come from an "improvement institution" and stay here in appalling conditions. They are literally rescued from this misery and get the help they need.
|
|
|
|
|
In addition, we will visit a project in Mbale, they help children from the street to go back to school. This way they can break out of the poverty circle and have a future again. We are really looking forward to meet these people and hope for a great collaboration! We would love to be able to distribute generously to these children during this trip.
