Four prospective medical students from Mozambique
|
|
|
|
In 2021, several young people from the Corrie Ockhuysen children's home passed their secondary school diploma. We think it's a fantastic achievement! Four of them are eager to study medicine and took an entrance exam at the end of January.
|
|
|
We received the fantastic news that they have all been adopted. We are very proud of these champs! These children had a rough start, but through loving care, sponsorship, and education, they can now pursue their dreams.

A story of hope from Uganda
|
In 2019, we went to Carolyn's children's home with a team from Held. There, we met a young mother with a daughter who has hydrocephalus. The mother had to carry her child all day, which was very heavy. She didn't have money for a wheelchair. The mother was completely exhausted!
|
|
As a group, we prayed for the mother and child and were able to help them financially so she could buy a wheelchair for her daughter, who was 2 years old at the time. We received the wonderful news that the girl has undergone several surgeries, now has a leg brace, and is currently learning to walk.
|
|
|
|
The mother has become a completely different woman who has hope again and now even has time to work in her own shop. God truly performed a miracle in the lives of the mother and child!

From February 20th to 27th, we will embark on a pioneering trip to Uganda with Held. We will visit a children's home in Entebbe and get acquainted with the team and the children there. This children's home accepts children who come from an "improvement institution" where they were held in appalling conditions. They are literally rescued from this misery and receive the help they need.
|
|
|
|
|
In addition, we will visit a project in Mbale that helps street children return to school. This way, they can break out of the cycle of poverty and have a future again. We are really looking forward to meeting these people and hope for a great collaboration! We would love to be able to distribute generously to these children during this trip.
