We live in a special season

Dear Sponsor,

We are in a special season. We cannot ignore the fact that a lot is changing in the world, and our projects are no exception. Yet, we believe that God makes all things work together for good. And although some of our projects are starting to feel stretched, we hear that trust in the Lord is growing day by day. Wonderful things happen, the children are particularly touched, and God provides for their needs.

Thanks in part to your help, our projects remain courageous and they feel supported in prayer and faithfulness. Now that the Christmas season is approaching, we may be thinking more than before about the sacrifice that was given to us, which started with the birth of Jesus.

Our projects want to celebrate this as much as possible, and we would appreciate it if you would like to contribute to it with a nice gesture. For our projects, Christmas is THE party of the year where they can celebrate life and thank God together for all the special moments. More on this later in this newsletter.

Dancing in Myanmar

Despite the difficult situation in Myanmar with the coup, the children at the Win Myanmar children's home are doing well. The children are homeschooled and in their spare time, they love to dance and sing together. We received the video below from Pastor Philip Thang; he and his wife take care of these children. You can watch the video! here and here. (click download)

Wood for Kosovo

Every year, there is a huge demand for firewood for the winter in Kosovo. The winters in Kosovo and northern Albania are often cold; temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius are not uncommon. Due to high unemployment and poor government services, there is often no money for firewood. We ask for your help to assist as many vulnerable families as possible in getting through the winter warm. A family consumes about one cubic meter of wood per month (depending on how cold it is). The average cost is around 60 euros per cubic meter of wood. With a contribution of 60 euros, one poor family can heat their home and prepare food for a month. Purchase wood for a vulnerable family now via this link.

The festive spirit and the joy of giving.

The 10-year-old Tumelo from South Africa starts to laugh shyly, and you can see him thinking back to last Christmas. Then he begins to say that he thinks it's the most wonderful time of the year. He's so happy because he gets presents then, and they have a very nice meal together. Of course, there are the beautiful Christmas songs they sing and the stories about baby Jesus that are told. Tumelo can hardly wait for it to come again!
Christmas-2020-4
Just as we in the Netherlands and Europe look forward to the fun and Christmas celebrations, the children within our projects do too. It is not often these children receive a present, and that makes Christmas special for them!
Like Tumelo, there are hundreds of children we can already help to a better future thanks to your support. But we also want to do something extra for Christmas, and we need your help with that!

Think of all those happy faces when they get a present, that must make you happy too! You can easily give your Christmas gift before November 15th by clicking here. (If you've already done that, thank you so much!)

Special Recovery in Uganda

One of our children in Uganda, Felix Moga, was diagnosed with rheumatic heart disease. His heart valve had a small opening of 0.08 cm for pumping blood from one chamber to another. A healthy heart has an opening of 2.5 cm. Felix Moga struggled to do his daily chores and got tired very quickly. After a full medical examination, the doctor found the problem, and within a week, Moga had surgery. He underwent a balloon valvuloplasty, where a balloon was inflated in his heart, causing the valve to stretch open. It has now been several weeks, and his blood pressure remains perfect. The doctor told him to run, play soccer, and be a boy! We praise God for this. Moga now has a radiant face full of hope and a future.

Are you inviting us?

Our desire is to be able to help even more children, and that's why we want to grow! We think it would be great fun to visit your house church, congregation, or event with a beautiful Project Held stand. This is even especially possible outside the Netherlands as well.

We would like to tell you what we do and which children are still looking for a sponsor. For more information, please contact us by sending an email to [email protected]

Take care of each other

Let's keep taking care of each other! For our neighbors, family, and friends, and let's not forget the children who need our help so much. Together, we can make a difference!

Many blessings and a very nice weekend, Viviane and Tine
