Dear reader,

Update children's home in Myanmar

As you probably know, there is still a coup going on in Myanmar. This has major consequences for the safety of the children. As a result, the schools have been closed for three years. Fortunately, the schools are now open again, but the children cannot walk the streets alone. For example, they go to school in groups to ensure safety. Many children, especially the youngest have lower results in school because the schools have been closed for so long.
May 21stth, a 15-day-old baby was brought in. She was left by her parents in the garbage. They gave her the beautiful name 'Gloria.' The girl is now getting the care and love she deserves! If you want to read more about the children in Myanmar, click on this link for the newsletter we received from Pastor Philip Thang.

Elderly people in Kosovo

In addition to child sponsorship, Project Held also supports a number of elderly people in Kosovo. Many elderly people in Kosovo receive a very small pension of around €70 per month. They have to buy groceries, pay the rent, and often they also need medicines. TThese people are mostly lonely. They are often no longer able to walk and hardly leave the house.
Stichting de Brug is committed to these people by visiting them regularly and bringing them a food package so they can move forward again. Often this is the only visit they receive, so they are very grateful for it. We would like to support many more elderly people! If you feel moved to help an elderly person, take a look at our website and sponsor an elderly person in Kosovo. for €31 per month.

Future and hope in Mozambique

In Mozambique, as soon as a child turns 18, they are no longer allowed to live in the children's home. For example, there are 9 boys in the Corrie Ockhuysen children's home who grew up there but are no longer permitted to live there according to the rules. Corrie has devised a solution and initiated a wonderful project by having small houses built near the children's home so that these young men can live in rooms. and study in the meantime. Corrie will continue to be the point of contact and will guide these boys further on their way to independence. As it looks now, they will be able to start in September. We are very happy with this beautiful solution for them!

Anniversary at Hope4Hope in Kenya

Hope4Hope has existed for 13 years and this is extensively celebrated. with fun activities for the kids.
Hope4Hope started small by taking care of a few children, but it has grown considerably. Hope4Hope is located in Mombasa, Kenya. It was officially started in 2010 for the children of Likoni village. Due to poverty, the children could not go to school and had to work in stone mines. Project leader Reginold Odhiambo started a football project to engage the children and give them a purpose. Currently, this has been expanded to include a school project, a food project, a dance and music project, a children's center, and a youth center. These wonderful projects give the children more self-confidence.

Stay in touch via our new app!

For years, communication between sponsors and children has been through written letters. We've noticed this method has several disadvantages, including high shipping costs and the fact that children's letters can sometimes take a long time to arrive, or even get lost altogether. Project Held wants to keep up with the times and has connected with a party willing to develop this app for free. This way, communication will be much easier and more enjoyable!
Soon you will receive an email with the details and how the app works. We are very enthusiastic and are currently busy testing the app!
Thank you very much on behalf of all our projects for your involvement and trust!
