Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

We start a new season with great enthusiasm! Most of our children have also had a short holiday. It is now also time for them to prepare for school again. This means the purchase of school clothes, books and school fees must be paid again. A great challenge every time!
Also for Project Held a new season. The new season also raises questions, will we continue in the same way or will we broaden our vision. More about this later in our newsletters, social media and on our blog on our website.

Christian persecution in India
From our contact person Raj in India we receive regular updates about the current persecution of Christians in the state of Manipur. For 4 months there has been a lot of violence and dozens of Christians have been burned alive. Thousands of people have been injured, 54,000 have fled and 295 churches have been burned down. A very serious situation! Raj and his team went to Manipur at the risk of their lives to provide assistance. Your prayers for this situation are more than welcome! There is a great need for bedding, food, mosquito nets, medicines, tents etc. If you want to help financially, please send an email to [email protected] and we will inform you about the possibilities.
In addition, Raj and his team, together with the older children from the children's home, have worked in the slums, where they mainly help the children by feeding them, listening to them and preaching the gospel.

Education in Hygiene in Kenya
The Esther Home in Kenya takes care of young teenage mothers who have often become pregnant through violence. Some girls as early as 13 years old. They are lovingly cared for here after being rejected by their own family. They are guided to the birth and then they receive help with raising their children and they are given the opportunity to go back to school. A wonderful project in which mother and child are helped.
In this way they also receive education in hygiene, a very important subject that can prevent a lot of misery. Esther Home's team has recently gone to several communities to educate the women about the importance of hygiene and to empower these women in their identity. Every woman received a hygiene package. If you want to donate one or more hygiene packages, you can do so via our Online store for € 15.

Just a day in the life of a missionary
Carolyn oversees the children's home in Uganda where Sudanese children are taken care of. She received a call last week from an organization, Child Protection. A boy had been found sleeping in a church in the village. The boy came from Juba in South Sudan, his plan was to take the bus to Kampala all by himself to live with his aunt. He arrived in Kampala in the dark and called his aunt. She told him to take the motor taxi to her house. He was robbed by the driver of everything he had with him, including his phone and his aunt's address. He only had his pants.

(This is not an original photo of the story, but it shows the seriousness of the situation.)
For three days he walked and begged for food until he came to Carolyn's village and fell asleep in a church. Carolyn went to the boy, gave him clothes, shoes and food. The boy was very happy to see people who spoke his language! All the boy wanted was to go back to his family in South Sudan. Carolyn put the boy on the bus to Juba in South Sudan and agreed with the driver that he would help the boy go back to his family. We are grateful that this boy was helped and did not end up on the street.

Playground at Foodstep in Uganda
Partly due to the donations of a number of sponsors of Project Held, a beautiful playground has been set up at the children's home in Entebbe, Foodstep. And not only that, there is also a nice relaxation area where the children can relax at the weekend and after school. These sponsors, together with their own network, organized a sponsor run at a primary school where the donations benefited the playground.
There was enthusiastic giving, which helped and surprised dozens of children in Africa! If you also want to set up such an action for one of the children's homes, please contact us via [email protected], we would like to talk to you and look at the possibilities together.
