This is a new command I am giving you: love one another. Love each other as much as I love you.
John 13:34 NIV
Dear reader,
You will receive the Project Held newsletter with updates from the field. Each time we highlight one or more of our projects with an event or activity. Have fun reading.

The harsh reality in Uganda

Project Held has been supporting a new children's home in Uganda for several weeks, called Foodstep. The children's home is located in an area where many witch doctors are present, which causes atrocities in the area. Stories that really go beyond our understanding but unfortunately are the harsh reality.

For example, a boy was recently brought to Foodstep whose feet were burned by his parents because he could barely walk and kept running away. He is now lovingly cared for and cared for. He is currently still receiving special food with extra vitamins because his feet were always inflamed due to the burns.…

There is also a girl who was found as a baby in a slurry pit, her mother threw her daughter into the slurry pit and set it on fire, she suffered serious burns here, but has healed well due to the good care at Foodsteps. At the moment we support a number of children here but we would like to sponsor all children. Take a look at our website to support a child.

Come along to Kosovo!

Project Held does more than just child sponsorship! We also organize trips to our children's homes and projects, these are always special, heartwarming and very special. We want to go to Kosovo with a team from 15-22 July.
There are still a few spots available, sign up before April 30th and look forward to a special week with us. Watch the video above and get a good impression of the country, the people and what you can expect. For more information and registration, visit our travel page.

Great news from Mozambique

Corrie Ockhuysen runs the children's home in Mozambique that we support. In March she was on leave in the Netherlands and we took her to the beach of Harderwijk to have a nice chat. She told us that she was able to buy a piece of land with the help of others for the 18 plus children. In Mozambique, the rule is that they are no longer allowed to stay in the orphanage, even though they are often not yet ready to do everything independently.

On this piece of land in Chinonanquila, 20 minutes from the children's home, there will be housing for these young adults. Here they will follow various courses, including agriculture, so that the chance of work is greater. A church will also be built here. All in all, a wonderful development to which we at Project Held would like to contribute.
