Every year there is a huge demand for firewood for the winter in Kosovo. The winters in Kosovo and northern Albania are often cold, minus 20 degrees Celsius is not uncommon. Due to high unemployment and poor government facilities, there is often no money for firewood. We ask for your help to help as many vulnerable families as possible to get through the winter warm. A family consumes about a cubic meter of wood per month (depending on how cold it is). The costs are on average around 60 euros per cubic meter of wood. With a contribution of 60 euros, 1 poor family can sit in the heat for a month and prepare food.
Hope4hope, one of our projects in Kenya, miraculously has a school building at its disposal. Children from the neighborhood who cannot go to school can still receive education! In addition to the building, they obviously need much more to start the school. They can currently provide education and a safe haven to 100 children, but they want to help many more children and also receive requests from the neighborhood whether they can also participate in education.
One of the items they need are school desks. Each school desk can accommodate two children in a classroom. These children receive food at school and can thus work on their future. A major challenge for large families is that the children cannot receive education because there is simply no money. Now that the school is closer to the village, this is an excellent opportunity to provide these children with education up to secondary education! A big challenge for Hope4hope to see the school grow and provide all the amenities needed to run a school. You can buy a school desk for just €30 and provide room for 2 children in a class.
