Project Held will be independent soon
Project Held has been part of the House of Heroes denomination for a number of years. After years of experience and collaboration with various organizations and the church, now is the time to reach a wider audience and to work with multiple churches.
We are currently working hard to become an independent foundation with its own board and ANBI status (Society for Public Welfare). For you as a sponsor nothing will change for the time being. Until we have our own foundation, the ANBI will continue as usual and until then we will keep the same account number as you are used to now. We will update you on the process with our newsletters.
At the moment we support over 550 children through Project Held. We are very grateful here and we hope to be able to continue this together with you and give all these children and more a hopeful future. If you have any questions, please send an email to [email protected]

Held@Home active on Liberation Day
On May 5th, we celebrate our freedom in the Netherlands! Last May 5th was a double day of liberation for the residents of the nursing home in Grootebroek. For the first time since December, the residents were allowed to move outside their apartments again and for the first time in months to enjoy a meal together in the communal area. You can imagine the joy that prevailed among the residents. We at Project Held wanted to spoil everyone extra by handing out a nice Dutch orange cake. The residents couldn't be happier and were very grateful for all the attention. All in all, a very successful day!

Update Hypolito from Mozambique
In our last newsletter we wrote about the situation of Hypolitho, a 23-year-old boy who spent years in Corrie's children's home from Mozambique. A boy with a violent past and who at that moment had ended up in hospital in a critical condition. His foot / lower leg would be amputated that week. In the end this did not happen, he was too weak to be able to operate on him. The doctors are not sure how best to treat him, so the approach is constantly changing.
Corrie is present at all interviews and has seen many doctors with very contradictory treatment plans. Hypolito is now out of hospital and on antibiotics. Recently he got crutches which supports him to walk. We pray for wisdom for the doctors and an unambiguous treatment plan.

Every month a team from YWAM comes to the children's home to organize a birthday party for all children who have had their birthday. Complete with cake, balloons, music and gifts. You will understand that this is always a special festive moment for the children!
Corrie and her team also managed to get all children to school. A considerable challenge every year. The children go to 7 different schools, all with different times. There is a lot of driving with the already old van.
