Special reunion between mother and child

Children supported by Project Held all have a special past. Take, for example, the story of Argentina. 8 years ago she came to the home where she is supported by Project Held.

Argentina was found along the road and did not know anything about her background or family. For 8 years they searched, prayed and tried in all kinds of ways to find out her family. Meanwhile Argentina is included in the project, could go to school, the kerk and grew up to be a happy and happy teenager.

Now after 8 years of praying, searching and persevering, her mother has finally been found far away in the middle of an unknown secluded neighborhood about 300 kilometers from the project. See below the first meeting and see God's heart for these children and answer in prayers. We thank God for this reunion of Argentina with her family.

See here the link where you can observe the reunion and see the emotions from both sides. A prayer from both sides has been answered!

Baptism service at Easter

Report baptismal service Mozambique Machava:

An Easter celebration you will never forget! What a lovely morning!
Celebrating and commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus also brought new life to 18 children and adults in Iris Ministries' project in Mozambique. A big party where 18 people made a conscious choice to be baptized and to live no longer for themselves but for Jesus!

What a special moment, behind every baptism there is a story, often a life without hope. But Jesus brought new life! Now they can build a life with Jesus that brings hope and love.

Newly adopted project Kenya

Project Held has also been supporting the H4H project in Kenya since January 1, 2018. A beautiful project that has a heart for the youth in Kenya:

Vision Hope4Hope:

In Mombasa, Kenya, the difference between rich and poor is huge. As a result, all possibilities and opportunities are reserved only for the rich and the poor are left disappointed and hopeless. For this reason, many young people choose the bad path in the hope of finding a better future in it.

Our goal is to show the young people that there is hope and that this can be achieved in a positive way. When young people come together in a safe environment, they will be encouraged to be positive. For this it is important that the young people are able to use their talents. Young people are the future and we want them to realize how much potential they have. In addition, bringing young people together is an enormous opportunity to tell about God and show them who He is. We know that we cannot change the whole world and end suffering, but what we can do with your help is make a difference in the lives of the young people around us.

Help Baan Zion in Thailand!

Prayer asked for Baan Zion in Thailand. Baan Zion is one of the projects that is supported by project Held and of which the little 30 girls are all sponsored! These girls have been rescued from the prison where they were with their arrested mother, or were rescued from child prostitution or human trafficking.

That which Jan and Ellen were afraid of, seems to be coming true! Every year, Jan and Ellen, project leaders of Baan Zion, are checked by the NGO in Thailand to see if Baan Zion meets their requirements. Last year, Jan and Ellen were informed that quite a few things would have to be changed in the current house, otherwise Baan Zion was no longer allowed to stay there.

Despite the fact that Jan and Ellen have done everything within their power to make the house meet all the requirements, it seems that rules were added again and again. In short, the requirements could never be met enough.

The NGO now demands that Jan and Ellen with staff and all the girls leave the house before the end of March! A house where they moved in years ago with the girls, a house that is their home and which is fully equipped, a house where last year special internet was added which was necessary for the study for the girls and above all a house where God's presence is clearly felt!

This brings great sadness to Jan and Ellen and the girls, but above all sadness also uncertainty. Where should they go with this large family? 30 girls, a number of staff and house mothers and all storage for food, clothing, school supplies, computers, games, kitchen utensils, etc...

That's why we ask for your help! Without your help there seems to be no possibility! Below are the points in a row:

In addition, we would really like to ask you, if you have the opportunity, to give a gift for the enormous mountain of costs that are coming. The estimated cost, if they will find a home, will be around €10,000/€12,500. Your help is really very welcome! All donations contribute to being able to start again somewhere! Nobody wants these girls to end up on the street!

You can transfer your contribution by means of the donation button on this website, or by transferring a contribution to:

You make a difference in a child's life!

Tamaxa was still young when she arrived in Machava, one of Project Held's projects. She came with her three sisters. The mother died and a great-grandmother took care of the sisters. The grandmother was old and did not have the strength and facilities to care for the girls or to gather food. There was a danger that if the grandmother died, the girls would end up in human trafficking or prostitution.

The grandmother with a heavy heart brought the sisters to the project because she knew she could no longer take care of the girls, a few years later the grandmother passed away.

Tamaxa has always been a cheerful and sweet girl and loved to learn. When Tamaxa was 11 years old, she chose to be baptized. For years Tamaxa has been supported by loyal sponsors through Project Held. A Mozambican company saw potential in Tamaxa and invested in her studies and so she could go to university! Tamaxa studied environmental engineering and is a great role model for other children around her.

Tamaxa is patient, helpful and has a loving character and that is what she wants to show the people around her. At the moment Tamaxa has a boyfriend and they are thinking about getting married. They go to church every week and want to do something together for the children and less fortunate in Mozambique.

This is one example of the difference you can make as a sponsor! Without our sponsors we cannot help children like Tamaxa and there is no prospect of a hopeful future for them. Choose to help one of the children who do not yet have a sponsor, but with a similar story to Tamaxa, and therefore become a sponsor!

Prayer asked!

Through this way we would like to ask for prayer for Pastor Abraham's wife, her name is Vijaya Sree. Vijaya had been suffering from her stomach for a long time, the cause of which they did not know. In the end it turned out to be a Belly Hernia. With an abdominal hernia, also called abdominal wall rupture, there is a bulge of the peritoneum through a weak spot or opening in the abdominal wall, resulting in a dull nagging pain accompanied by swelling in the abdomen.

Vijaya had to have surgery for this, because the bump only got bigger. The operation was difficult, but successful and Vijaya is still in the hospital recovering from the operation and is now on medication.

Through this road we would like to ask you for prayer! Please pray for a speedy recovery, so that Vijaya can return home and Pastor Abraham and his wife can fully focus on the care of the children and the maintenance of the school they recently built and opened to educate children from the slums. to be able to offer.15218522_10209783870647077_268991566_n

In order to pay for Vijaya's operation, Pastor Abraham had to work himself into debt because he did not have the money to pay for the operation himself. In India generally the rules are, no money, no help!

Through this way we would like to ask you that if you are in the opportunity, would like to contribute to Pastor Abraham and his wife in order to be able to repay the loan as quickly as possible and so that they can fully focus on taking care of the children!

You will understand that this operation and additional loan entails extra concerns at a time when they actually want to be able to focus completely on the children to celebrate Christmas together in a special way and to thank God for what God has done in the past year for the children, the project and the environment. Pastor Abraham and his wife are fully committed to underprivileged children and let's stand around them together!

Storm damage school Mozambique

Last year we had the privilege to visit our other project in Mozambique in Machava, both of Iris Ministries, in addition to Corrie Ockhuysen's project in Matola. A beautiful large children's village where everything is offered for the children, regularity, guidance, a good meal, shelter and where the primary school is located on the site itself. There is also a small bakery on site to learn the baker's trade, training as a hairdresser and a sewing workshop. A great opportunity for the kids to gain experience in the trade. In addition, there are also special rooms for boys and girls with neat beds and shower facilities on the site. All this for the children who have been rejected, parents could not take care of them, or with another complicated background, so that they were given a place in the home and can exercise, play and grow up together with other peers.

The sad news came in last week that a huge storm/tornado has swept over the project. This storm, rain and wind has knocked down the schools and part of the boys' space and the situation is so bad that it is no longer safe for the children to be taught in it. In addition, the schools will have to be rebuilt in order to be able to teach the children again. It is the case that the plans were precisely to build a larger school, built from stones instead of wood and reed mats, and to be able to take in the children from the neighborhood in it, so that even these families who are not having it easy, the opportunity is to educate the children.

At the moment the project is at an end, no school anymore and the accumulated savings cannot be spent on the new school but on the construction of the old classrooms. The wish is to build the new school as soon as possible, but then they will need a financial miracle. Help so that these children can be educated again, either in the old or in a new school, but the storm has made a nice inroads into this project. Pray so that the build-up will go well and connections will be made so that the costs will not become too high.

Childhood illness in India

Last weekend we received a cry for help from R. in India. R. helps about 482 children in 11 houses with the help of Project Held. At the moment, 125 children have been seriously ill for two weeks, have fever and headache. There is a knuckle fever in the area where the children live. The children may have been infected with it. Special medicines are used to suppress the symptoms as much as possible and to make them bearable. The children who are the sickest
now receive the best medicines and there are 50 children who need immediate help and already have serious symptoms.

You will understand that the reservation that R. normally has to help children who are ill has been completely spent on this care. It's terrible when you see the children sick, want to help them, but can't because the finances don't allow it. The doctor has advised to take blood from all children for a hematological examination
do what costs 2000 rupees per child. (around € 27,-). If the test shows that there are too few platelets, special treatment will have to be given.

R. urges us to pray for the healing of the children and that no more children will be infected. But he also asks us to help and support us in the finances. Without the finances, R. cannot help the children and the children will get sicker and there is the possibility that they will die from this terrible disease. Held has already made a contribution to the project.

We also want to appeal to you, but stand shoulder to shoulder together and help R. and the children get through this difficult period.

At the moment € 3000 is needed to have the children tested and treated, something that R. does not have himself…. if it is within your ability to transfer a donation so that we can help R. and the children as soon as possible during this terrible situation, you can transfer your contribution with the following information:

Student program!

New at project Held: Student program. Project Held exists 10 years, which means that for a number of children who have been supported and educated for years, are now ripe for university! A great blessing to the children, they would never have had this opportunity without the help of their sponsor who has stood behind them in prayer and financially for years!

At the moment at Baan Zion in Thailand we have 4 students who are in university. A great blessing to these girls! And a crown on the work of Baan Zion. These girls come from the Hmong people, had no Thai identity and a high chance of ending up in slavery or child prostitution. Now years later, they have a Thai identity and are the first of the Hmong people to go to university. This as a great example and encouragement of the families left behind.

But studying costs a lot of money, in addition to tuition, school costume, a scooter to get there, your own laptop (without you are not allowed to participate in university) and all other unforeseeable costs. Help these girls make their dream come true!

Casa de Anna Mozambique

Project Held helps children worldwide, including in Mozambique, led by Corrie Ockhuyzen. These children have HIV or AIDS and the parents are very poor or deceased. At the moment 40 children are cared for there. The oldest girls are ready for their own space, but at the moment there is none. In collaboration with the Stop Poverty foundation, the construction of a girls' house will soon be started, called Casa de Anna† Project Held will do its best to realize the furniture for the house, but we can't do that without you! Help you!

Stop Poverty: Stop Poverty contributes to the fight against global poverty through small-scale projects. Using the knowledge and expertise of our local partners, we help in a sustainable and effective way in the field of education, water supply, emergency aid, shelter for the homeless and health.

This is necessary for the device, such as:

To be able to provide for all this, we would like to collect about 4500,-. So that all necessities and things are purchased in Mozambique itself and we can also support the local population with it and provide them with work.

Help provide these girls with their own private space, which brings peace to the entire project. You can do this by transferring your contribution to:
